What is Vinny the Pug’s new Quest?

After many years of climbing in the Sonoran Desert,  Vinny has experienced a career change that has taken him  into an entirely new direction.

While living in Phoenix, it was reported that in Maricopa County alone, more than 30,000 healthy pets are euthanized every year.  Even more alarming, Vinny learned that most cities the size of Phoenix also put to death about that same number of healthy pets to achieve animal populations control objectives.

With the assistance of his human, Vinny the Pug has spent nearly two years studying and developing strategies to help end the killing of healthy pets and join the fight to direct all 50 states to adopting the policy of 100% No Kill policy.

WHY: Too many healthy pets are dying every day because the nations pet rescues are still using obsolete 20th Century fundraiser models.  Thousands of pet rescues can’t keep up with the growing numbers of animals entering shelters at a time when donations are in steep decline. Greater numbers of pets are being killed to make room for others coming in to take their place.  The death cycle is repeated over and over again.  The key is to enable the nation’s pet rescues to raise as much money as needed to slow and eventually reverse the death cycle. Team Vinny also has devised plans to contibute large sums of money to educate the nation about the need to spay and neuter and encourage legislation to shut down the puppy mill industry.

HOW: Vinny the Pug’s new quest is to launch a 100-city tour of the U.S. and Canada to raise $1,000,000 for donations to pet rescues.  Sometime between January 30th and March 1st, Team Vinny will hit the road on their tour to teach 21st Century pet rescue fundraising and raise funds.

WHEN:  During their 2 1/2 year tour, Team Vinny will train thousands of pet rescues throughout the continent.  They will administer fundraiser seminars and build an international fundraiser  "in fracture"  to help rescues migrate to fundraiser models that are not affected by the  economy.
